Removing lower engine cover
Will removing the lower engine cover affect anything?....If anyone else has please respond with any changes you have noticed....I do need to get another one, mine was trashed after hitting a dead animal. This happened last night and i haven't removed it, looks like hammered horse ******!!

I would just buy another one. it's there to keep dirt, water, debris etc. away from your motor, aswell as aerodynamics I'm sure.
drive temporarily without it if you want, but I wouldn't leave it that way.

you don't need it. I drove my supra around without the under engine cover for over 3 yrs. In fact, I think it it better to not have it as you will be able to see any fluid leaks right away. BTW, your engine won't get any dirtier.

Other members have found it that it is not essential. Is it redundant? If so why would the manufacturer spend money and time installing one?
My view has been, if it is there, there is a reason. [ A lesson learnt many years ago when a metal plate was removed on a vw bug near fuel filter. The metal plate was a heat deflector and once removed the fuel line suffered from vapor lock, but only after 15 or 20 minutes from cold start]]
Without the plastic bottom, you would definately change the air flow pattern inside the engine compartment.

Like Rom said, it's mainly aero. Lower Coefficient of drag = better gas milage.
Haven't had one on my car for 5 years.
Fix it if you can, but it's nothing to loose sleep over.
