Looks like it already happened to the drivers side and was retouched by the previous owner or dealer.

ok this is not good..... it shouldn't be the case. on my i can pull up and down (shift) wipers and they are far from hitting!

maybe some further away pics?

Just looking at the pics you provided it appears that the hood is not aligned properly. Could just be an illusion, but the gap looks larger in one pic than the other. More than likely it's the loose nut as described in your link.

If you forget and try to open the hood while the wipers are up and away from the glass like when you are changing blades this can happen.
