Anyone in Mass have their windows tinted
I called today to get a price on tinting my windows. They told me that the law in MA allows for 35% and because of that they will only put 50% on the doors which will get to about 35% with the factory tinting already there, and they will put 35% on the rear window. My question is will I be happy with only 35% or should I just forget about having it done?

There are lots of threads on 'tint' and discussion on this topic, please try the advanced search feature and use keywords like "35% tint " and point at the GS forum

My black GS is 35% and I'm plenty happy with it, PLUS I don't get hassled by the cops or during inspection.. .not worth it. Yours will look even darker with a black interior.
Don't get metallic / semi-metallic if you have NAV

I have my windows tinted and i also sell tint. We use 35% which in some cases will bring the tint level to under the legal limit of 30%. I have only been questioned about my tint once and the guy let me go.
You should be ok with 35%.

I meant to respond to that as well... tint place that did my GS tested and said the OEM tint in the window is 3% and he used 32% on my car.

I have had 2 tinted cars in MA, both had the same thing 35% on all side windows and 20% on the rear windshield. I actually never got stopped or bothered for my tint, ever. As far as inspection goes, I used to just talk to the guy at the inspection station about cars and yadda yadda, and he'd "overlook" my tint.

I got mine tinted 35% all around.
It is plenty dark, and keep in mind if you get 20% in your back window, it will be VERY hard to see out in the dark and especially in a storm (rain, snow, etc.).
I would stick with 35%.....however I do have Graphite exterior and Black Leather interior.
Don't pay more than $180 for it.
There are 2 places in Saugus who are extremely reputable who will do it for $180.
Sonny's actually did the John Hancock building.
It is plenty dark, and keep in mind if you get 20% in your back window, it will be VERY hard to see out in the dark and especially in a storm (rain, snow, etc.).

Thanks, I have actualy made an appointment with Sonny's. It is go to know that they will do a good job.
