As for the price - 2000 GS400's here in California are going anywhere from 21/22 to 25K. The only cars that are in the 12 - 13K catagory are 98's with 150,000 miles on them. The SSR wheels it's sporting I think were around $500 a wheel when new. I'm thinking not a bad bonus on this car.
Thanks for the easy test Shogun!

Whatever!!! I never pay retail - not even on new cars! If you like to be taken - thats your choice.. If you got to have a GS - goto a wholesaler and get him to take you to an auction and find a clean low miles '99 or '00 GS400 for $18K all day long!

The post above says a 98 just under 100K for 13.8K so a 2000 at 75K with nav ought to be worth more.

Well - I ended up having the car completely inspected by Lexus - top to bottom - and they gave it a big two thumbs up. So I bought it!
It's a great car. I feel I got a great deal on the car buying it under KBB trade in value. It really doesn't get much better than this unless your rich uncle gives one to you. For us who live in the real world buying a car under trade in value is pretty darn good.
The car is solid, no noises or rattles of any kind. I've looked at more than a dozen GS400's over the past few months and this one toped every single one of them. The previous owner even said he noticed the car rode even better after the body work. I would have to agree after driving so many that were inferior to this one. I'll be installing a set of Bilstein PSS's soon and I'm looking forward to owning this car for a long time. Plus, I very much like the SSR wheels that it's sporting.
On the drive home down the beautiful CA coast we stopped in Cambria, and as we got out of the car a nice person looked at the car and said "That is a nice GS!" I said thanks and just smiled. It was a beautiful day!

Congratulations! Sounds like you got a great car.
The Bilstein coilovers will make a world of difference in handling. If you want more 'grunt' get the upgrade torque convertor - you'll love it.
