Default Polyurethane Motor Mounts - Advice?

I have some downshifting harshness with manual downshifting which I suspect is due to old motor mounts (110k 1999 GS4). Has anyone poly-filled their mounts? I'd like to reduce the slop in shifting and new stock mounts would be just as much work for worse performance (I think anyway).

stiffer motor mounts would be nice. I wonder if aristos have beefier mounts? don't forget trans mounts too.

After some reading last night (NOTHING at all on GS's), I'm going to try inserts to see what kind of difference will be made. I don't want all out poly-filled as the vibration would probably be a bit too much for me considering my car is mostly stock aside from l-tuned S/S and some cosemetics. I'll keep everyone posted.

poly filling is new to me? do you squirt liquid poly linto stock mounts and let them dry? my es could maybe benefit from something like this.

You fill the mount with poly as its a lot harder and most resistent to damage. You get much less wheel-hop, stronger/more precise shifts (at least that was the case in my old manual Maxima, I don't know what the deal is with automatics). The trade off is more vibration in the cabin.

After some fooling around with the mounts on my car, its pretty obvious that this isn't going to work - the mounts have no space at all for inserts and I believe they are liquid filled... So much for that lol. There may be hope though - http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-25405.cfm

I've e-mailed Weapon R about possibly putting one out for the GS3/4/430, as there are no polyurethane options for our mounts - 300hp on old mounts could become an issue for a lot of us on CL - I'm sure there is a market for this here. I read a few reviews, mainly by Evo and WRX owners and they approved.

Poly mounts and bushings are very popular in the VW world too, especially in high HP setups. Draw backs are they are hard and stiff thus they transmit a lot of road noise and vibration to the driver. One other draw back is that they began squeak and creak after a short amount of time, baby powder or talcum powder during install can reduce this.
