Hi,
Just got my 2002 GS300 sport design, when i change my gears from park to drive or reverse, is it normal for it to make noises in the back. sounds like the springs are compressing and also sometimes sounds like a gear change that is kinda harsh.
Thanks!

Is it a click? bang? gears grinding sound?
If its just a little click(usually only audible if windows open), thats usually your brake pads touching the calipers/disc. Makes that sound every time after the car has been sitting for a while.
Now, if its a bang or grind then you have some problems! Since your car is an 02' your drivetrain warranty should still be good. Take it to get checked!

ive got the same thing...but only when i put the car in drive... it sounds like something is stretching and the car slightly drops from the back, sounds like the gears are catching loudly.

Hey Jefftsai ...One more thing... you said, the clicking is when the brake pads touching the calipers/disc. I hear a click almost every time when i brake n come close to a complete stop. is that normal?? is there anyway to fix that...?
