I use FrodoPlayer for mine...They offer skins for almost any car out there...or you can make them yourself...
My carputer setup has some good bass to it with my freeair kicker 10" mounted in the stock location above the gas tank...
Dennis-C: to hook up subs, depending which mobo you go with, you simply use a 2.5" to RCA converter and go straight from the back of the mobo to your amp. I have the Alpine F450 5 channel and it sounds beautiful!
Nice job with the screen mount, I know how much of a bish it is to sand that thing down...
Love seeing more carputers in cars, sure beats the heck out of a $2500 Alpine navi/dvd system...

A project like this costs approximately $1000-1500 depending on the speed and quality of the parts you pick...and thats for parts only. The labor, now thats a whole different story If you do it yourself its free of course. Take it to a shop and the price can easily go up to $1000 for all the custom wiring and fabrication needed.
I had a setup like this in my old car, but now i'm planning to do something similar to maaloxx's setup in my GS.

Here are some pics of the bezel process. I used the JDM double din adapter as my starting point. Took my monitor out of it's case and hacked that up...then hacked up my double din kit to get them to both fit together. Liquid Steele and bondo were my best friend...LOL

$230 monitor
$0 spare PC
$50 gps receiver
$20 cables
$50 FM receiver
$100 krappy amp...LOL
$50 JDM bezel
So, I'm at like 500 bux. But yeah, the time involved I'd charge between 500 - 1grand depending on the install. Not impossible to do though!
