Default Greenish reflective looking tint oem on rx300 question

Hey all, my mom has a 2003 rx300 and the rear windows have that greenish slightly reflective tint on the rear windows. Was wondering where i could duplicate that on my gs4. Any tint manufacs make it like that? Or it is gona be just a lexus thing

I know what you mean. the oem ones have kind of a frosted, shiny look. I think that's built into the glass, but I may be mistaken.

I can tell you that my wife's RX frosty tint is not a film but a factory tint in the glass, sort of like privacy glass except mirror like instead of black. I also know that in many states the mirror type film tint is outlawed unless it came from the factory with it. Lexus RX's are the only vehicle I ever saw with this style of factory tint. I have a roll of it here that I was going to have installed in another car but the installer told me I wouldn't get 2 blocks out of his shop before the local law would pull me over and have me remove it imediately. But that's Alaska law.

i know what you mean too.

I've been looking into the green tint myself. I have found diffrent shades of green around town.

I did run into one that had a slight silver sheer to it....but it looked cheap.

have ya'll seen the oem green tint thats on the VW Toureg? very nice

I might have to put the green tint on top of the 35% I have, so it doesn't look ghetto. what the g answer look, but not as bright

Okay, it's a Lexus thing. Mirrored tints in most states is outlawed unless it came from the factory that way. This is why Lexus dropped it and went with black tint.

the green tint as you described is in the metal surface inside the headlights. all factory lenses are clear and unaltered.

depending on year, some came regular chrome, black chrome or greenish chrome. there was a titanium finish that came on some special edition GS.

as to the greenish chrome, i've seen different degrees of green with some lighter and some darker. i not sure if the UV or sun lighten the greenish hue over time.

hehe i thought we were just talking about the tints on the windows?

but yeah, the ones on the rx they are the mirror tint, but it's from factory, most likely baked into the window itself already. you can get it from tint shop i suppose
