18s on GS300 w/o lowering?
Anyone have 18" rims/sneakers on a GS300 without lowering it? I am curious to see what the gap would look like. Any opinions? I want to keep the original ride quality of the stock suspension and upgrade the sneaks without dropping $5-6k, hence 18"ers.

Nope. I did wheels (18s at the time) and lowering at the same time. If you have the appropriate setup, lowering does not necessarily worse than stock. If anything, the reduced rubber you get when going to larger rims will contribute to the ride degradation. Even going from the OEM 16s to OEM 17s, you will notice a difference.

Well, my recently new 20's were 2750 with tires and suspension coilovers were around 1500.00 for the Teins CS... There's no way I'm dropping 5-6k on the car either.. But if your on a budget right now maybe S/S and a used set of wheels/tires from the classifieds will work Good Luck....

I have 18's on my GS3 and all I did was change out the stock springs with then Tein springs. It gave the car a little drop and I'm glad I did it. That was a pretty cheap mod and I noticed a difference in handling and floating (none) but very little in ride qualitly if any at all.
I plan on going 19's next year once I find a rim I really like.

It's on bilstein shocks with stock springs though.
This is an old picture b/c it doesn't have the l-tuned skirts on.
It doesn't look that bad in person, somehow in this picture, it looks higher

2006 GS430 rims
I recommend these rims found on chuckb's car.
They are really classy on the 2nd gen. Its what I have on my car too (and its at stock height).
Search for a while, and you can get a set that already includes tires mounted for a reasonable price. If you decide to lower the car at a later point, it will only improve the looks And the best thing is that its a factory wheel so it will always be available if you bend or damage a rim.
