got to love the 400!
Mine is totally stock and I love it. I just can't wait until I do some mods and really get that car moving.
My good friend (and CL member) is thinking of selling his 300 for a 400.

Not trying to make you feel worse, but I went from a GS300 to a 430 and the difference is night and day...and the gas milegae is very similar on the 430.
But don't feel too bad, the GS300 is a very nice car, especially the Sportdesign model. You can always add HIDs and an aftermarket Nav system.

LOL yeah I had a 01 300, it was really nice got it in perfect condition w/only 25k miles. I did always wonder if I should have bought a 430. Anyway ended up getting a TL only to finally get a 03 430 about 7 months after I got the TL, in September. Yeah I know I'm crazy with cars, especially this year.
The 300 drives nice, the inline six is smooth and reliable. But there is something about the V8, even when you are just cruising around or going up hills you can really feel the extra torque. Plus now I have nav and ML, and I'm really happy to have those (especially the ML). I don't really do the street race thing but just the other day I destroyed a lowered Civic that tried to cut in front of me when the road narrowed. It is nice to know that with the 400/430, you are driving one of the fastest stock 4-doors ever made.
It's tough, if you get a 430 you will probably have to kick in around $5k depending on the deal and taxes, etc. That's a lot for just a bigger motor.
I truely feel it has been worth it for me but definitely for a lot of people (like my wife) it is crazy. After all, it's not like the 300's are junk, they are great cars too.
Best of luck because it actually is a hard decision if you are regretting the 300 everyday.
