As opposed to them picking the tires and putting them on without your consent?

I picked out the tires, they had to special order them, and then they put them on with my consent.

The way he put it was. I (the salesman) didn't recommend the tires so why should you get a 30 day ride guarantee on them.

The scoffed a little and then I feel did a great job trying make me happy.

I thought I was going to have to pay for the installation of the first set. Then pay for the unmounting and remounting of my snow tires. I only paid for the unmount and remount. On the first bill I only paid for the alignment.

Smile Get some snow and ice tires. Buy Blizzaks

Get the blizzaks and you will be able to go like crazy.
Those tires can handle ice like it is dry road.
You won't even believe how great they go on ice.

Buy them
you won't be sorry

Yeap, I have a winter set of Blizzak WS-50 on OEM 16" wheels and the car felt like it was on rails during yesterday's snow storm in Chicago. GS4 handles as good as any FWD car but A LOT MORE FUN to drive.

The wife is running studded WinterForce's on her RX, she loves them. Out performs the Nokians she had last year. Not as quiet or smooth, but much better climbing icy, snow packed hills. Here, 2 mounted sets of tires is the norm, summer and winter.

I lived in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids for ~6 years, If I had to drive everyday, outside of city limits, I'd get a 2nd set of rims and mount some snows. If I didn't need to drive in bad weather (electronic commute), I'd buy some good all season radials like the Michelin Pilot Sport AS. I just costed a second set of rims and snow tires, they came in at $100 under the best tires money can buy (the Pilot AS). And I still would need tires for the other 9 months of the year.

These Pilot AS tires are great, esp with the GS's TC and Snow setting. I could use these tires year round In CR or Iowa City, but if I had to commute for the Quad Cities to CR, I'd get the snows and a second set of rims.

I only commute 12 miles, but I didn't want to try another set of all season. I had asked for a price on the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S, when I decided to just go with snow tires.

I just got some Pirelli 240 SnowSports. I've taken them over a bit of ice and snow, but no heavy snowfall. They handled those conditions very well. To test them, I gradually accelerated in a turn until they started losing it on the snow/ice and then let them recover. They held until well beyond what I would normally do in those conditions, and recovery was almost instantaneous with letting go of the acceleratrix (a bit of Monty Burns for you guys). They're quiet too! I'll report how they do after a heavy snowfall, I'm almost looking forward to it.
