Default Radio Fuse Keeps Blowing... Help

Hi,

My radio fuse keeps blowing everytime I put in a new one. It blows the the climate control and then I cannot shift my car between park - drive without using the bypass the shift lock override. This happens even if I disconnect my aftermarket stereo. I cannot figure out why it doing this.

Anyone have any thoughts?

there's a short somewhere or the radio isn't grounded.. you mentioned aftermarket radio start there.

Yup - sounds like you have something grounding somewhere.

The best way to diagnose is to remove (or turn off) all the things on that fuse circuit.

Isolation method:
Then bring on line one load at a time and if fuse does not pop take it off.
Step through all loads.

Cumalative load:
Bring one item on line and keep adding the next till the fuse pops.

Peak Load:
Some circuits would draw more current when the signal level increase [aka amp].
So crank up the volume to increase load.

Which fuse? What amperage?
And stop putting in more fuses. You will burn up your wiring harness.
