Default More Wheels

Since i'm new to this board and YES i've searched through the forum....I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out with something.

I just bought a 98 GS400 and i'm looking to put some wheels on it. I was looking at these.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-LE...QQcmdZViewItem

I was wanting to run a stagger setup with the 19x8.5 and the 19x10. These wheels in the auction are a +35 offset. Does anyone here have a pic or link of a car with this wheel size?

I just don't want it to stick out too far and dont want it to rub. However if it's close to rubbing and rolling the fender will take care of the problem, then i'm ok with that.

I just don't want to spend a lot of money on something that's wrong size.

Thanks everyone.

I'm really looking forward to enjoying this GS.

Kyle

That's a pretty cheap price for a set of 4 rims, be careful; you don't often get something for nothing you know.
As far as ofset is concerned, that number sounds like it is in the right range. Search for rominl's treatise on wheel applications, he lays out what works what doesn't and how aggressive you can be. In all likelihood, he will pop in on this thread very soon and comment regardless. You can get the stock Lexus rims that these are patterned after from Sewell Lexus for $224 per rim in 18 X 8.5 ( that was the size Lexus made them in). There are several very helpful and knowledgeable suppliers of rims who are members on this forum that can hook you up with nice rims. D2 is one that comes to mind. Just a word to the wise, don't be swept up by a bargain basement price and end up disappointed with sub-standard quality and no recourse or remedy.

Contact Derrick at D2-Autosport and he will set you up with some wheels. They have some specials going on right now in the vendor classifieds.

those are nice looking rims.

a 2.5" lip on an 8.5" front rim sounds aggressive to me. Makes me wonder......

Those are nice looking rims. Have you checked the CL wheels classifieds?

$5900. For that price, you can get really nice quality rims from HRE or JDM Work rims from Japan IMO. I agree with the other CL members...contact Derrick at D2 on what he has on special.

Congrats on the new car purchase!! You will love the GS400, trust me!

Be VERY careful with those types of products, they are attempting to promote the wheel as a 3pc forged alternative, when in fact it is simply a one piece cast wheel. The wierdest part is the name of the wheel is MODULAR, that is a oxymoron, a one piece wheel called Modular.

There is nothing at all wrong with 1pc cast wheels, we actually carry some really clean styles with nice lips that can accomodate a more conservative budget.

Thanks guys for the references, and we would be glad to assist you with a set of wheels.

I am the 1pc specialist - STEFAN@d2autosport.com

Derrick is the Multipiece Specialist - DERRICK@d2autosport.com

Have a great day
