It's true. They use the same door sills in the CL and the 318ti and they also use the same materials around the radio in the 318ti than what they use in the CL500 and 600's navigation system.

 

somebody mentioned something about the technology incorporated in the new 7 series - just would like to point something out. There is no doubt that bmw went to far and made the idrive impractical. However, it is a good benchmark for other car companies. It is reason and maybe even inspiration for other car companies, especially lexus, to throw in the many features offered by the 7 series.
Imagine if all the functions of the 7 series, with the simplicity of operating a lexus dash!!! Now that would be heaven. I think lexus should be focusing more on the technology they put into their cars, rather than put heavy resources into the interior. yes the interior does need work, but its nothing too strenuous.
LAST THING I WOULD LIKE TO SAY: EVERYONE WHO HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THE GS INTERIOR, DO YOU OWN A GS? IF YOU DO, OBVIOUSLY THE INTERIOR WASNT SUCH A CONCERN OR YOU WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I always thought the GS interior was DECENT, notthing more, notthing less. Gs interior is too simple and too similar to toyota. I always wish it could be more unqiue and more sporty. I want the Gs to be more of the "Wild One" of the Lex family.
If you think BMW interior sucks, your crazy! BMW and Audi makes beautiful interior, best in my opinion. Their buttons and features are more complicated, and they look fancier in my opinion. I love the way Audi A6 proportion the wood, I like their wood grain layout the best. Gs lacks too many luxury features... I wished they just up the price like the MB430 and BMW 540's, and make it that much better. So that people don't think Lexus is cheaper than MB and BMW. MB owners think their cars are best because of price... if we upped our price and made the cars better, MB owners might think different about Lexus.


I wish Lexus made a car to complete to MB S600. To estabish our luxury mark!
