Well if you want to keep it stock, you can buy a used head unit from a number of different sources for a lot less than that. And I know you can find the steps on here for removal and replacement of the radio. Big question is ,,,,will that solve the problem.

apparently the tech took a pioneer radio out of another car and hooked it up and it worked just fine, about to leave for the dealership to pick up the car and find the tech to actually talk with him instead of my service rep

talked to the tech and got a little insight but not much, at least i got my car washed for $117.50, i just gotta tell myself it was detailed LOL

seriously though he recommended finding out the previous owner and giving him a call to see where he took the car to be hooked up with aftermarket stuff. once i know that i can take the car back and either get them to fix it for free or remove all the stuff for free.

i could also just get a new stock pioneer head unit for the measly price of $1400 or go aftermarket, i'd say im leaning towards aftermarket

he didnt know what the antenna on the roof was hooked up too either

want to give big props to suge66 for hooking me up with a new radio at a good price

turns out the head unit was the culprit and i had been lead down a dark road by taking off the back pillar and thinking it was a connection at the glass the radio had markings on the top with a phone # and a service sticker on the bottom

thanks everyone for the help, this place is the best

I had the same problem....mine was at the glass. I was told its a ribbon connection there, and it can get crimped. screwed up my Nav, too.

Dude. Not only had this thread been dead for 15 years, the answer was in the second-to-last post: the head unit was faulty and they replaced it.
