Question

I am new to ClubLexus and was looking for advice regarding the Philips HID Kit and the headlight housing on a standard GS300. I purchased my GS300 with standard halogen headlights, however I have recently upgraded to the Philips HID Kit. Don't get me wrong, I like the overall quality of the kit, however there is a yellowis tint and the light spectrum is not very smooth.

Is there a difference between the headlight housings (Halogen vs. HID) from Lexus? Any advice to better the overall quality would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Default Let it break in.

Hi, I have put a set of the HID on my 97 SC 300 when it first become avaliable in the market. The Philips HID takes a long time to break in, but eventually it will look 99% like the factory HID. Hope this helps.

Mine are the same way, it looks like a whole bunch of "V's" on the the floor...they don't have a yellowish tint at all...they are more "purple-blue"

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thank you everyone for your information! I will give the kit some time to break in. I have received a couple of quotes for new HID headlight housings through Lexus. It is going to cost a pretty penny, however it might be worth purchasing. I will most definitely let you know how the light pattern turns out.

Thanks again for the quick response! Greatly appreciated!
