Does the warning light look like this one? If so, look under the dash for a little **** like I have in this picture... that's the control (and on/off switch) for the K40

The K40 does 'beep and chirp' a lot so that's my best guess

Worse case scenario, take it in to a Lexus Dealer where you bought the car and have them take a look at it and fix it since you just bought the car and the chirping was NOT there when you did. I had a similar problem with my ES300 when I got it from this local non Lexus dealer only my problem was with the battery and struts. These issues were NOT there when I test drove the car and did the initial inspection. So when I took home the car I went back immediately and demanded service. I got them to replace the battery but these idiots said nothing was wrong with the struts when indeed the front right and rear right were worn out.

I guess it boils down to where you bought the car and how reputable a dealership they are. If they're responsible and honarable, they'll diagnose your car and help you. But time is your enemy. The sooner you get it in there, the better your chances of having the problem rectified

Its a stealth-install undetectable radar detector, one sec I'll see if I can find a URL for you

http://www.k40.com/othe_unde_main.html

Yours (and mine) are a bit older than the ones pictured and sold here, but still a nice 'freebie' for you to pick up. The k40 is NOT cheap, the original owner probably spent $1K+ to get it installed at the dealer.

Here's an operating guide

Install guide

Good news is, you can turn it off Bad news is - you shouldn't as it may help you avoid a ticket but you can turn the volume down.

It's pretty good, but not as good as a Valentine One or (I assume) other high end radar detectors like the 8500, etc. I prefer my Valentine and leave the K40 turned off most of the time.

BUT it's a lot better than nothing, and the stealth install is a very nice thing to have... I've had a window broken in my LS400 and a V1 stolen at the airport; the K40 would have faired better there.

You are welcome. Just please make sure to search for prior threads before you post. Most everything (even including the question in this post, where I made up that picture above with the **** for another member) you ask has been covered on CL, sometimes many many times.

Please take time to use the 'self service' of the search feature, instant answers, no waiting.

Oh sweet! A K40 for free! I thought I got lucky when the dealer didn't know my car had HID when I bought it. A K40 is a bonus for sure.
BTW, probably one of the top 5 detectors to have, and that stealthy install is killer!
