My 400 is beeping and chirping???
I just bought a GS400 this past Thursday, and ever since I drove it home till now it has been making all kinds of beeping and chirping sounds and a tiny red light that flashes with it? No warning lights are on in the instrument cluster. Is it because I put 87 gas in (mistake at the pump)? I drive in the "D" position only (haven't figured out how to shift up and down yet) so I'm totally confused...... HELP PLEASE!!!

is it beeping and the light that shows a car and 2 skid marks flashing? if so, like GSquicksilver said, it's your traction control kicking in. usually you have to be fairly sideways for it to beep. could be a problem with a VSC sensor if it's not because you are getting squirrely.

^^^ I have not driven it hard yet so it couldn't be that. There is a tiny red LED on the top of the center cluster, and it flashes along with the chirping and beeping. Is the light supposted to be there? I have no experience with Lexus (converted from Honda) cars and equipment. I have read the manual and it was no help. It only said that beeping is normal if shirting through the gears, which I have not done because I don't know how! Is it the gas possibly?

What were the road conditions when this happened? If there was snow or ice, it does not take much for the vsc to kick in and have your car beep at you. When that happens, you can feel the car trying to regain traction. On the other hand, if the road was dry, like Chuckb said, it could be a problem with a VSC sensor.

It goes of in all kinds of weather, although it has been mostly wet and alittle slushy recently. No icons light up on the instrument panel at all! Should I bring it back to the dealer (not Lexus dealer) that I bought it from and inquire about it?

If so, at least the skid warning light is working. This is the light that should come on along with a beeping sound if you hit the gas too hard in slippery conditions. If your getting beeping and no lights and the car does not feel like its wanting to skid, I'd bring it back to the dealer and let them look at it.

The red light is in the center cluster, right above the speedometer, directly above the 80 mph marker. It chirps sporatically while driving, but especially when I stop sometimes the beeping/chirping get faster!

I don't recall the light you're talking about.

Another idea.... it could be a k40 radar detector.
I had one in my car when I bought it, installed by the dealer. Do you see the two LEDs (which I've since replaced) under each of the main gauge clusters? Those are for my K40.
I'll get a pic of the 'standard' k40 warning lights before I replaced them with cool blue LEDS in a sec, hold on
