Default adhesive for badges

I took off my badges and now I want to put them back on, what type of adhesive should I use? Should i clean up the surface first from the residue of the old badging? can i use goof off or will that harm the paint? feel free to reveal any other helpful hints...

use 3m industrial double sided adhesive tape

and yes, clean up all the old adhesive using adhesive remover or googone, and then use some alcohol to rub the surface

that 3m stuff looks kinda thick, it doesnt stand out? Also wont it weaken over time? I have some good adhesive i used before on ceramic, strong as a rock so it might be too permanent.

it won't weaken over time for sure, a lot of body kits use that. my ugo roof spoiler is not going anywhere. i think there are some "thinner" ones?
