Thumbs up

I bought a 2001 Lexus GS 300 today. It's black/black, with premium package. It also has a spoiler, chrome rims, and the gold emblems.

If anyone is interested, I'll take some pictures of it and post a link.

Welcome. Your all set. I was curious, were you considering any other sedans before you bought this? If so, what others and why did you choose this?

I was considering a Jaguar X-Type, however because it is a new car, it would have cost more than the GS. I got the GS for a good price, so I went with it.

I'll be taking some pictures probably later today.

Also, I know some people dislike the gold emblems, however I was wondering what you all thought of them? In my opinion, they look pretty good on a black GS, especially with chrome rims.

I'm not a big fan of the gold emblems, but then again, I don't like the chrome much either. Eventually, I plan on either getting my chrome blacked out, or purchasing some Platinum Edition emblems which are black chrome. Basically, just go with what you like.

mrflow,

welcome. if everything goes well, i will be looking at my 3rd gs myself. blk/blk is very classy and aggressive. since i cannot stand dirt on my ride, blk is out for me.

the gold emblem looked fine when they are new on a blk car. but no matter how good the plating process is, they will fade, and make the car looked very BAD, imho.

though the jags have improved over the years, they ae still no match for the lex. you get more value for your $$$ on thelex.

enjoy your ride.

will

How long does it take for them to fade?

it all depends on the quality of gold plating, and your environment such as weather and air quality. some start to fade in 1-2 years, some lasts 2-4 years.
