My Illumination went out on the factory radio on my 01 GS, I think there are 2 bulbs one went out a while ago and the other recently so just my little screen doesn't light up. I put a post in the electronics but no answers, people suggest O.L.T. but I guess he only does stuff with the SC's. Anybody know if I can raplace bulbs if I take it apart???????thanks

So the LCD still works, meaning displays the info OK just no light?

yes, u can change the bulbs. be very carful with the soldering iron to not burn a hole in the lcd ribbon cable since it is close to the bulbs.

Are they LED's attached straight to the board? Just curious because I wanted to swap them out to ultra whites.. thanks

Neo, correct, it displays just does not light up, only can see it in the day. Where can I get the bulbs?......

Almost every big metropolitan city has a stereo repair shop known as "auto radio" or something like that. They will change the bulbs for you, or replace the entire radio (expensive). Most dealerships send the cars out to an aftermarket repair shop when they have radio/stereo problems.

Call your local Lexus dealership and ask where they send their radios to.
