Thumbs up

Without question if you are like me a "true car enthusiast" I'd have to give Merc props on the upcoming 2003 SL.

Beautiful, but can't justify the almost $25k diff. over an SC430. Maybe I could start selling crack

All I can say is, "It's about time!" What I could never understand is the number of new SL's w/ paper tags and all on them here in Dallas w/ that old a$$ body style w/ different head & tail lights! for $80k

I don't think it's worth the $$ (even if I had it), but I have to admit it's a beautiful car. I could probably learn to live with it.

IMO much better looking than the SC430.

Like most Mercedes, beautiful...but not worth the price IMO. It's just not $25K better than the SC430 for me...but if I could get one for free or dirt cheap (so I can resell it), then I'd take it...

For the money, I'd rather get a Porsche instead..

Wow, VERY beautiful...very SLK-ish though...but still amazing, they should have made the SLK like that (so that I could afford it, lol)....but I think the SLR looks the best, when is it supposed to come out?...and how much?

I think the car I have to worry about now is the C32 AMG, price is almost the same as a new GS430, except you get free maintenance, better (or atleast comparable) interior, nice wheels, and 0 to 60 in 5.1 sec ! Wow!

The only bad thing about it is that its a MB...bad quality, my uncle's S500's power steering just messed up for some reason...

But it still probably gonna be my next car, after GS430....I need to check up on it a bit more though, especially the interior room

what do you guys think about the 2002 C32 AMG? (i think there is an article on it on the latest (or maybe last month's) Road&Track (or maybe Automobile mag?))

Nice performance, but there's no way it competes with a GS430 except on performance - it's WAY smaller inside.

Plus you know MB *still* doesn't offer a factory CD player of any kind!? Bizarre.

SC430, or lex in general, still represents the best value $$$ can buy. if i has a chance to spend that kind of $$$ on A car, def the PORSCHE.

the c32s are in diff class comp to gs430. sure the interior of c32 is nice. but on a relative term to the gs, the opinion is on a personal taste level. i would not mind a c32, but paying over msrp (~$10-15k over) is not my cup of tea. judging from the interior of the new ES300, the next GS that is due in late 03/early 04 should be even better.

That car has some beautiful lines. Very creative. It doesn't look like a bubble and it doesn't have sharp angles. Really nice flow across the whole body, classic hood lines and those hood vents look mean. On looks alone, if I had the cash to spend, I'd be looking seriously at this car.

I like the design of the new SL but I would never own one.
Mercedes is a very common car here in Europe and I don't want to be common.
