Nate actually our offices are currently located in PG Maryland on East/West Hwy. I am very close to the PG mall. Treasury is moving their operations to Birmingham which is how my fiancee and I ended up making the move. We know about the housing in this area because we have been in the market for over a year. The move to Birmingham has been a pleasant surprise to me. I am way happy about it but my fiancee has lived in Maryland her entire life so she is taking it a bit harder. The house eases her pain though.

Sorry to see this happen to your GS, but on the bright side you will be moving to a beautiful house and getting married, so in perspective the troubles with the GS are minor.

hey bro, just to clear this up, youre running the 275s 20x10s in the FRONT and in the rear? also, what are your offsets in the front/back ? the 275s explains alot about what happened up front, so does the excessively wide wheel...im scared to go over 8.5 wide in the front now that ive seen what happened to yours.

You are running a 20 x 10 with 275 tire in the front on a GS. I didnt think that was possible

sorry to hear about your misfortunes with the car, as well as getting sweated by the police. Hopefully everything with the car will work out.

Congrats on your engagement though, and on that beautiful new home. For that same price, you could (barely) afford a 2 bedroom condo here in overpriced San Francisco

Yes, housing is priced very nicely in the South compared to other areas around the country.
I found this -
"Property tax in Birmingham is the lowest in the country, and , according to ACCRA Cost of Living Report for the third quarter of 1997, Birmingham’s composite cost of living index was 98.4% or 1.6% below the national average. This compares to 99.5% for Atlanta, 102% for Sarasota, 103% for Raleigh-Durham and 115.4% for Hilton Head."

There are however quite a few areas in the Bham area that are VERY expensive. I have a few friends that live in Bham in neighborhoods that I could only dream of living in. Every single home is a Mil plus. The homes are in a couple subdivisions called Greystone and Southlake. My GF's sorority sister's Dad built all of Southlake and his home would probably go for at least 5 Mil. In Mountain Brook, a city of 21,000, the average income is $100,500.

Here are some links to homes in the pricier Bham areas to give an idea..............

Yeah I know all about Greystone maybe I will be able to upgrade someday and afford something in there. Birmingham has definately given my fiancee and I the ability to have our dream home. I am looking very forward to the move and the new opportunity. Would you believe that out of the 79 people who were supposed to transfer to Birmingham only 3 accepted? My fiancee and I actually volunteered.
