Is 146K too many miles to start modding my GS400?
I'm wondering if 146K miles makes my car too old for mods.
I'm thinking of getting:
- SRT w/ECU Intake
- Valve body upgrade for tranny
- PI TC
- Toyota LSD 3.76 gears
- S&S Headers
- coilovers suspension
This would take a year or so to complete due to cost. Just wondering what you guys think.

It's a Lexus, after all... at 140K+, these engines are just getting "broken-in!"
Do it! The SRT intake, aftermarket exhaust & header and torque converter mods will really wake the car up.

the only thing I'd be a little worried about is the tranny. the higher stall tc may not be the best thing for a 150k trans. I think the 3.76 gears also will make the trans always be spinning a little faster and shifting more too.
at the same time, the higher rear gear ratio actually takes some load off the tranny during regular driving, so who knows.
