Default My GS was totaled tonight

According to the police report, the accident happened around 9PM tonight. I was not driving. I had let my best friend borrow the GS. Apparently somebody cut him off and he lost control of the car, crossed the median and got nailed by incoming traffic on the other side. He had to get 52 stitches on the side of his head and they had to re-attach his right index finger. There were 2 very young kids in the truck that hit him and they got hurt pretty badly. Their mom was driving the truck. Two of her front teeth were knocked out and she received 18 stitches on the forehead. My friend got cited for speeding. The kids mom got cited for not having them strapped in a seatbelt.

The GS is gone. The passenger side was completely destroyed from what I have been told. I will take a trip to the towing company tomorrow and I will get some pictures. Alll of you be safe out there.

Sorry to hear this happen to your beast. Glad your friend and the people in the other car are ok. Will all your mods and such be covered by insurance?

My friend is not dead so I don't think condolences would be in order for him....lol but I will graciously accept those made for my car. As for buying a new 2006 GS, I am not interested. If I were, I would have been the first to buy one.

Don't get me wrong, the 3G GS is a nice car but I am very much into performance and quite simply, the 3G does not offer the kind of performance that could win me over. At least with the 2G GS, I was able to perform a 2JZ GTE VVT-i swap and after a lot of work, my car was able to smoke at will just about anything that crossed it path. I have raced Porsche 911 turbos, tne new Bentley continental GT with its 12 cylinder twin turbo motor, the CL55 AMG, the CL65 AMG, the E46 M3 and even a BPU+ Supra. Most were easy kills except for the CL65. I will never be able to do that with a 3G. They don't come with a 2JZ motor anymore. This means that I would not be able to swap in the 2002 vvt-i motor I have sitting in the car now.

At this point, I am not sure yet what my next car will be...

Thanks to all of you guys for the nice comments and a big thanks to you for the nice wishes cliff. I hope the kids make it out ok as well. As for the car, there was indeed a lot of hard work and money that went into it. In addition to the 2JZ GTE vvt-i swap, I also had US spec turbos. The injection system was converted to low impedance to accomodate more responsive Supra 550CCs injectors. Of course, that required a fuel system upgrade complete with new lines and and Walbro pump.

The turbos were recently submitted to the high flow process and I am sure a dyno session would have revealed more than my old 463 rwhp and 512 rwtq. The car felt faster after the upgrade. I also had the HKS EVC Pro, HKS SLD Type II, HKS Type S intercooler, 3 inch Downpipe, Full 3 inch exhaust, Supra Brakes all around, Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors, Tein Type Flex coil overs with EDFC and a few other goodies..

.I must add that I had just purchased everything to take the car to the next level. A single turbo upgrade was in the works. New turbo manifold, SP63 turbo, downpipe, midpipe, Greddy Ultimate, etc...

Here are a few pictures of the departed. It will be missed.

That really sucks.

Insurance doesn't cover blood, swerat, and tears.
