You could always install another Nav antenna and locate it on the front dash.

I mean I always wanted to play DVDs in my car and hopefully a newer version will work regardless of the tint (wishfull thinking)
Dude, you are not seeing all of the satellites. With GPS you need to see a bunch of satellites (I think 4 minimum) at the same time to be able to get the pinpoint accuracy. That's why you are not accurate, something is blocking your signal, so I agree with the tint problem. Other than that, make sure your antenna is accessible at all angles and nothing else is blocking it..

go to the service menu on the nav system; it provides diagnostic information about how many satellites are being received, which ones they are, how strong the signal is, and the current latitude/longitude being calculated.

Default I dont' think it's the tint

Hey man, it is not your Tint! I too have a 2000 GS4 with the Nav and I'm having the same problems. When I bought my car it had 5% tint on it so I had it stripped. I then got the Nav Hard Drive upgrade about 3 months ago at the local dealer and it still does the same thing you're talking about... the little nav arrow wandering off on non-roads and telling me to make u-turns because it can't figure out where the hell I am. And when several roads are close together (like in Wash DC) it tends to get mixed up with what street I'm actually on. Don't get me wrong it does seem to be working for the most part but it just doesn't seem to work well and quick enough and so I tend to just skip using it.
I even thought maybe it was the speed pass in my car for toll booths causing the problem but I took that out for a while and it still does the same thing.

I think it had something to do with my Sunroof because when I pulled back the cover from the inside, and tilted it up, the navi started working "fine" it finds the sattlite fasterer and seems to know where i am alot more now. I guess its going to go down the tubes as soon as it starts raining and im going to have to close the sunroof. Come on SoCal weather.... dont dissapoint me now

Its got nothing to do with your sunroof other than you suddently have a big hole in the top of your car where the Nav signal can get through. 99.99% It's your tint, we've seen the same problem over and over on the forum.
