I used to have an xjr and when they come to launching they are crappy so the lexus will defenatly win the jump start but the jag does pickup quick so be careful from that but if you get a good enough start then all he would be seeing is your tail lights, my advice to you is try to keep your RPM between 2100-2500 it just depends each lexus is diffrent test it and see where your wheels start to spin and then go 100RPM's under that and what ever you do dont throw it in manual shift mode that will slow your launch either put it in power mode or use the shift gate if you know how to launch it from that
hope this helps alittle

You should be able to open a can of whupass on an XK8......an R might be another story, but you've got the normally aspirated car outgunned by 10 hp and about 300# less weight. Spank yourself if you lose.

Ok just got home so I thought I would post an update:
1st Run
*** Left Lane ------------ Right Lane
**** GS400 ---------------- XK8
R/T -- 1.486 ---------------- 1.345
60' --- 2.385 --------------- 2.592
330' -- 6.482 -------------- 6.983
1/8 --- 9.814 -------------- 10.486
1000' - 12.676 ------------ 13.524
1/4 ---- 15.082 ------------ 16.285
MPH --- 93.94 -------------- 80.24
Sasha's dad had his window open and his A/C on so not a good indication of the XK8..
2nd Run
**** Left Lane -------------------- Right Lane
***** XK8 ---------------------------- GS400
R/T --- 1.218 --------------------------- 1.138
60' --- 2.477 --------------------------- 2.471
330' -- 6.831 --------------------------- 6.588
1/8 --- 10.308 -------------------------- 9.921

1/4 ---- 15.768 ------------------------ 15.161
MPH --- 89.70 -------------------------- 94.69
That was the last run against the XK8.. Just wanted to thank Sasha for the invite and I hope you know what a cool dad you have.. Please thank him for me and I hope you guys have fun tomorrow..
Most likely those times above are ****ty but i've only done this a few times and it was only meant for fun.. If any of you get the chance take a 1/4 mile run please do it.. Loads of fun.. I did a few more runs by myself just to see how fast I could get the GS up to.. Best I could do was 98.21 MPH.. And I used manual mode to achieve that and folding in my mirrors..

Outstanding
Would love to see the video on this. I have never been much of a Jaguar fan, but the newer models are really nice. Esp the 370hp version. Alot of style. Maybe it's the whole Sting commercial bit. Either way, great run and work on that reaction time.
