Default '00 GS4 v. '06 MB C280

my mom just got a C-Class, but has her heart set on a Civic, she wants me to take the Benz 'cause it's newer and take my car and use it as a trade for the civic, I love my GS, the only thing makin' me consider this is the mileage on my car is at 96500 and the Benz only has 400

what do you guys think? keep my car or let it go for the benz?

Well, this is a no brainer, take the Benz. With only 400 miles on it you can't go wrong.

Trade a V-8 for a V-6? Never! It may be your Mom, but she can't understand (most women don't). Take the Benz and trade it for a good RWD V-8 car. BTW, the reliability of the Benz is poor compared to a Lex.

I don;t think they make a C280 anymore? I think its 240 and 350 right? The 240 being a I-4 kompressor.

Keep the GS, though I think the C-class is gorgous.

hmm.. the other factor is that my GS is all paid off, as where the Benz is like 700 a month lol, even though it's AWD, i don't like it, doesn't have the power of the v8 haha i'm so stuck

Wait... you have to make payments on the Benz?? I thought it wouid have been a straight up trade. In that case, i don't know what your even contemplating, haha. Use that $700/month to buy top-of the-line snow tires, buy yourself gifts, and to mod the GS even more.
Our GS's still look good & turn heads brother!

nah i don't have to make payments, but it's still just the fact that payments are still there.. i mean both cars are already under my name and i don't know if i like the c-class that much.. it's smaller, not as strong, doesn't have HID's, NAV or the v8 for that matter.. seems like i'm losing a lot of features.. plus i already bought mod's for the GS lol i think i'm just gonna stick with the GS

I like the C class. In fact the C350 is on the list of cars that my wife and I are considering. However, being that it is a C280 with no HIDs, no nav and whatnot compared to your GS4 I wouldn't even consider it. If it were the C350 with HIDs that would be a different story. Sell the Benz privately then buy the Civic for your mom.

Two things quickly jumped out at me:

First, whether or not you're making payments, it sounds like SOMEONE is making payments on the car. Thus, your mom isn't "giving" you the car, strictly speaking. That $700/month can get you an '01-'02 E-class with a V8, or maybe even a couple-year old AMG C-class still under warranty.

Second, it's the low-end C-class. You drive a GS4 because it's the best that Lexus made, how could you suffer driving a low-end Benz? Everyone who has a RWD GS3 knows that you'll just be looking at the higher-end cars, like the C350s that go passing you on the street.

Seriously- if the Benz isn't paid off, dump it and get something everyone likes.
