How easy is it to remove this? Has anyone done this?
I accidently left something on top of the cup holder lid and it stained the lid. I tried everything to remove it but the stain is permanent. I am going to remove it and paint it....maybe paint it chrome, and the ring around the shifter chrome, and the ash tray chrome...just an idea...

The lip is NOT removable: It's attached with the whole cupholder assembly. All you can do is remove the WHOLE chunk, maske the sides and paint the cover.
If you take the wood and the consold apart you can see that the cover is hinged with the rest of the holder and the gear that links the open movement and bla bla, too much trouble. I think you have to CUT it too if you want the cover separate.
I've done this
the cover is part of my DIY project. ALso the ashtray and the shifter ring:eek:
so yah, not removable. You HAVE to mask it.
