I have 2000 GS300 with standards lights. I want to upgrade to Xenon lights, but I have been hearing alot of good and bad things. Really what I would like to do is to go to the dealership and have them put in all the equipment like an option as if I purchased it. But I dont know if that is realistic. I see some people with conversion kits that look great, others look cheap. Please tell me what is the best thing to do, or what conversion is the best. Personally I like the ones that look more purple.

A few things to keep in mind.
- The GS HIDs are reflector based. You won't get that nice color/flicker that is the result of projectors. You can go to higher color temps at the expense of output, but this is not ideal.
- Putting OEM HIDs on a non-OEM HIDs car is straightforward but not plug and play.
- OEM HIDs has auto-leveling. Unless you plan on retrofitting sensors and wiring (not cheap at all), you will not get this feature.
- OEM HIDs are expensive if bought new at the dealer. A combination of junk yards, classifieds and eBay will be the best bet, cost wise. It will take more work, luck, and timing, though.

Thanks for the reply. But does anyone know the best set for the best look possible on the GS300? I thinking maybe a really good conversion set atleast. I called the dealership and to get the authentic equipment put in would be about $1000 per light.

With the OEM HIDs, there are choices too: "regular" chrome, green tint chrome (01+ HID), dark chrome (on some 99s), black chrome (GS300 SD), titanium GS300 SD). Prices vary too with the SD models the most costly.
