Default HKS KONSAI Hood...Painted & Installed...

Here it is guys...

First, I want to thank Steve Ganz @ Carson Toyota for all his help. Here's a short story on how the HKS hoods arrived here. Back in Sept I was sitting in Steve's office asking him to order me a veilside hood. After several calls, the hoods were back ordered with no ETA. So Steve makes a phone call, hangs up and asks if I would be interested in a HKS Konsai. Sure why not... Well after 3 months of waiting, the hoods arrived in late December in perfect condition from HKS Japan. The quality of the hood is just incredible. Perfect fitment & alignment with no gaps. Also, big props to my body shop who did the painting and blending for a perfect match! Also new on the car is a Lexus Sport Design grille for that old school Lexus look. All together, I paid over $1500 of this final mod for the car. I think it completes the exterior look of the car.

Next week my car is going to be busy. LMS is going to custom fabricate me a factory IS300 hood prop. With the lighter weight hood, I passed on the factory hood shocks. Also, LMS will be making a cutout in the hood liner for the vent to be functional. Finally, our CL vendor Aero Tect, will be doing the clear bra on the hood as well... That's all folks...

Here are some pics I took today. Enjoy...

Hood liner... What do you guys think. Remove it totally or have LMS just cut out a piece where the vent sits. Keeps it some what OEM underneath the hood.

Hood looks great!!! I would probably try to cut the liner to fit the screen area. Would be nice if you could duct to the air intake from the hood.

nice idea but the purpose is to vent, not ram air.

Air will flow through front bumper/grill/intercooler/radiator. Then it will rush through the hood releasing the hot air.

Default Represent your hood!

The hood looks really nice! Way to represent! I think it would look a lot better with an aftermarket grille to compliment your eyelids! Lol! -wringo

Got it!!! Don't I feel dumb. Just shows how old school I am. I'm used to seeing louvered hoods to accomplish that.
