Default Occasional harsh downshifts at lower speeds?

I recently had the tranny flushed and this "characteristic (problem?) is not completely gone. Occasionally I have firm, perhaps even harsh, downshifts when the car is colder or even when warm-but is only at low speeds, like a 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st downshift. Feels a bit like a manual but still concerns me. And now on occassion the car ponders a second before going into reverse. Any one else with these "characteristics"? Or are they just my issues? Again, only 72k miles on car and religiously serviced...

Default Same here too

I only have 29k on my car and it is 2002. I have noticed hard shifting on slow speeds too, Like a minor jolt, almost made me thing if it was a Lexus i WAS DRIVING, but anyway. I think it is preety normal, since there is so much computer **** connected with the tranny in our cars. But if anyone knows more about it , please hit us up.

Yup, ecu reset will solve that problem.

OK. Great to hear this isn't totally isolated. But, how do I reset the ECU??? Does the dealer have to do it?

If all else fails, get Amsoil tranny fluid. The shifts are so smooth. Do a search on that.

I have reset the ECU and I will update when I think it has passed or failed the "test." As to Amsoil, I had tried that to little avail before my recent tranny flush and read elsewhere that ththese tranny's don't respond well to this.

Did you do a full flush with Amsoil, or just a drain and fill? You have to do a full flush to see the benefit. I have no trouble with Amsoil in the tranny at all.

I did a full flush. The benefit I received from it lasted only a few thousand miles. My concerns is these shifts are doing damage to the tranny and will dramatically shorten its life. I can only imagine what it costs to rebuild this tranny....

put some Lucus transmission fix in there. That will help as well.
