Aftermarket HIDS not working on a 98 GS300

I purchased a Philips HID kit, the one that directly connects to the lights without the need of splicing. For some reason the hids do not light up on my gs300.
Heres the funny thing, I connected the hids to my brothers 96 sc400 and it worked great. I also connected the hids on a friends 2000 integra, and it did not work.
I am sure the unit works, but why doesn't it light on the gs?????
Please assist if you can. Thanks

I had a problem with my wiring because they made one of the connectors "backwards"..or at least it seemed backwards and my hids wouldn't light up..but after I forced the connector in it worked
I'm talking about the connector between the Balast and the relay that they provide you with.
