The other day I started my car (98 Gs400 approx 147000km on it). The car started fine. It was running for maybe less than a minute when I turned it off, deciding to check my oil. I then decided against this, and went to turn it back on. The car wouldn't start. I left it a few minutes, still wouldn't. I tried several times. The engine was turning over but not starting, and all electricals worked. I tried giving some gas when starting, still didn't work. Then I floored the gas pedal all the way and turned the key, and it started fine. This was about 3 days ago, car has been fine since. Any idea what the problem is/was and if its still a cause for concern? fuel injection problem perhaps? Thanks.

Ive had something very similar happen once in a years time of owning my 98gs400. I had it running, then shut it off & went inside. I came out a little later & it cranked real fast & I freaked thinking maybe my timing belt broke or slipped but then I cranked & it finally started but smoked & you could smell gas real bad. It was floodedout but it hasnt done anything like that since so Im just hoping it was a 1 time deal.
Good luck
