MY FRIEND HAS A STOCK honda s2000 .. dont think it has an intake but im not sure. i have a stock 98 gs300.... will i get wooped bad? should i even try to race him ?

lol thanks for the info guys you just made me not TRY . lol and people say you should try things then not try them @ all.... but in this case im better off not racing him... ill try to stay away from him @ signals ..ill get behind him or something.... but what can i do to my lexus to get it up to the s2000's level??? ist it like 240hp mines 225hp correct?

a GS3 should be faster 0-25mph, when S2000's RPM is around 5500.

I would believe that. When my car was NA I raced my friend in his S2K. I had a better launch (read: he didnt have traction) and pulled on him until about 20 or 25 and then he FLEW past me.

c'mon now... do you seriously believe that with the above mods you can take out the s2k? i would think you'd need much more than just that... a turbo or supercharge would help...

There is NO WAY that this would get you there!! Even with the same HP the GS is 1,000 pounds heavier than a S2k! You need some form of forced induction to get you there.

what exactly do i need? any one have any idea? im sure a even a low stage supercharger in my gs300 would kill a s2000 but a supercharger would b asking for too much .. the ld-1's i just bought took a bite outta my wallet. any small modds that can get me up there. mayb a tc? but i dont wanna peel out @ every signal thats just stupid and it can get you a ticket for something of acceleration a cop told me .. but i forgot what the first word was. lol oh well let me knwo guys

actually, i would think that a GS3 coudl win if it had about 265HP or so, thats what it would have with all those mods, or so i thought, maybe you would need the unnorthadox pullies and TC, just because the S2000 torque is so low.

When I raced a S2K I was still NA and I had:
Intake
Exhaust
Apex S-AFC
186Rwhp which is roughly 256hp to the crank.



As you know the GS is heavier than the IS. The is300 comes stock with 215 hp. Thats ten HP less than a GS300 right? And the IS300 is still faster stock in 0-60 and 1/4mile times. The IS300 weighs about 3200lbs and a GS is about 3700lbs? Just showing that HP is not everything and that the IS3 would still be faster than the GS3 with 265hp when I had 256hp.

A S2K weighs about 2800lbs. That is a big weight difference. Also the S2K is a manual.

That being said... I didnt stand a chance against a stock S2K. He didnt just beat me.... He SMOKED me! The race was over as soon as VTEC kicked in.

sasha you have to remember even the GS400 has a hard time with the S2000 if it was driven right 0-60 in 5.6 thats a pretty fast time, yes the GS400 is heavier but buy only 50lbs or so, so its not much of a diffrence so you need at least 280-300 hp to keep up with the S2000

this is one of those times i bang my head on the wall saying "i shoulda bought a 98 supra twin turbo" but hey this lexus is class and space i guess that makes up for the HP ... the s2000 is small and a 2 seater? nahh.. id rather ahve 5-6 grls with me in my car then hav 1... im notta one gurl type guy. hehe
