Hello GS owners -
I have the Opportunity to get a set of HREs that is off my friends 350Z..they are 18x9 F - 245/40/18 and 18x10 R - 275-40-18 (I think). They are the 540 Series with gun metal centers.
They are not exactly in PERFECT SHAPE..i'd say 7.5/10 due to small nicks on the spokes..it needs about $1200.00 to refurbish from HRE (so he says).
I can get them for 2K without the tires....
I really want a nice set of wheels so I can get my Vertex Kit installed..should I go for it? or should I buy a NEW set of 19's to complement my Kit?
What do you all think?
Thanks
Mike

It you look at my avitar, I have the iForged Revs in 20's. Here is a better pics of my car on 20's. plus I had 19's on it before and in some angles they look small on the car.
Cheer and good luck!

Thanks for the very fast replies guys...
If I were to get a set of 19's, I want to get a set of JDMs VIP Dish Style like the JPs or Auto Couture or even the Work Euro line...although my Kit is more tuner style.
I thought that it is a good deal for the HRE's and with enough drop I might be able to swing the HREs and ride just a bit better than 19s.
Tough decision for sure.
I think I'm just having one of those...Impulse Buy moment as I really WANT to get my KIT installed

I liked these wheels ever since I saw them and when I got them I was very pleased on how they fit. I was thinking of going a little lower but I have the L-Tuned suspension on it for now, I just don't want to mess up my tires.
Either way, 19's or 20's you can't go wrong.

DASHOCKER 19's staggered is the way to go. 18 is way too small. 20's may give you rubbing issues.
I have always wanted a staggered set up and I found a good fittament with mine, and when I go with the BBk on front, I have a tiny spacer and I am golden.
Cheers,

I have had 18 and 19 and liked both. I personally don't think 18's look that small

I faced the exact same decision two years ago when I bought my 18 inch HRE 447R's. I knew the 18's "looked" too small on a big bodied car like the GS, but the reality of the situation was get the HRE's (roughly the same price as what your friend is selling his for), or wait for god knows how long to get 19's........
To make a long story short, I bought the 18's. I still don't regret my decision even though they look small, however for that price, they were just such an amazingly great value considering how much they go for brand new.
At that time though you could not get decent 19's close to $2K, so it was a no-brainer decision for me. A second reason that I used to justify my purchase is that I am more into performance than looks (note how everybody including myself comments on how much better 19's look). The 18's I have weigh roughly 22lbs each and to me that was a good solid reason to get them instead of shelling out $4.5K for a set of 19 inch HRE's.
Today however you can get very good forged custom wheels (IForged) in 19's for about $3K or so, so it makes sense to pass on the 18's and get 19's.
Hope that helps you.
I don't think I will get 19's - I like my 18's enough, unless someone badly wanted them and made me an offer I could not refuse. That ain't gonna happen though.![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The HRE's on the blue GS above are the ones I bought.

I must say though Hameed, that your car is perfect with those 18's on there...definitely the best on here (in my opinion) with 18's...its just complements the sporty look of your car (especially on those rolling shots of your ride taken last year). I think if done right, the right set of 18's can look just as good, and Im sure will perform or ride better than others sizes.
