I have seen some photos of GS's with chrome front grills and I think they look pretty sweet. I am trying to put one on my Platinum colored GS300.

I have actually seen 2 different kinds. One with the Lexus emblem on it, the other with out. (I'd prefer to keep the emblem)

Does anyone have any info, or links to a site where they can be purchased.

Also if you have any info on the pricing, and installation information your knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I am kind of new here, so this question might have already been posted and answered, but bear with me please...

What I did, and what alot of other people do is very cheap and simple. All you ahve to do is go to a local auto store and but some chrome door trim that people put around they doors. Put that along the little bars on your grill, and then you have chrome grill for $10-$15. If it messes up, or comes off, you will probably have a little extra left that you can put on there.

Thumbs up grill

Yeh,

IMO, this is the cheapest and most dramatic improvement you can do to your car. It can't cost you more than $15. It just looks great. We can all thank Joe for this one.

Its hard to believe that its just the chrome decal tape...

I may be at the store tommorrow, and have a new project for the weekend.

Did you even bother to take off the grill...?

And this is the look I was trying to get:

Are you sure THATS NOT REAL CHROME...????????

Even the very edges appear to have chrome on them. Does yours...?

Thanks to who ever owns and posted that image. (It is not mine) That grill looks awesome... And I need one for my GS...

Thanks

I am going to take some pics soon...my grill has no emblem anymore and it looks CRAZY.

By the way..it's not chrome decal tape...it's chrome door trim..BIG DIFFERENCE.

It is so much easier to detail cut the trim with the grill off you will do a much better job.

ALSO make sure you get the roll of chrome trim not the individual strips that they sell in the stores..WHY?..because the individual strips are way to thick and just aren't as flexible as the one that comes in the roll!...

TAKE YOUR TIME

Common sense will lead the way!!!

Make sure you post some pics so that we can see your new grill!!!!!

racingaristo, why do you want a shop to do it for you? it's the easiest DIY mod you can ever do. it won't take more than 40 to 45 minutes.

So I just go to local bodyshop and buy a roll of chrome door trim? I've never heard, seen, nor known how to do it. Ray, any help?

just go to your local auto parts store, buy a roll of the chrome door guard strips(the thin ones), measure the vertical lines on your grill and cut the chrome strips to the same length as those lines on the grill. they are different lengths so you have to do each one individually. the strips should already have adhesive on them. you can do it with the grill on the car, but i took the grill off cause i thought it would be easier. that's it. real easy.
