ok, i found some more info on it, and i've heard that yellow tops shouldn't be used as direct replacements? i'm not adding another battery, i just want to replace the OEM one i have.. so which would be better? i can't find much info on the stinger 'cause they don't have like their own website or some **** and optima seems to be popular but i've heard that stinger is good as well...

people say deep cycle batteries are bad for the car unless you leave the system on without the car on and is bad for starting.. but i don't know what model they're referring to when they say that so i'm really lost

I investigated these batteries before settling on a Red Top Optima for my RX300...no complaints.

This, is the only website I could find, http://www.stingerelectronics.com/we.../batteries.asp

However, I had a buddy who got a Stinger for his 93 RX7 and nothing but problems. First the terminals sucks and always kept coming out on one side. My uncle and I did some welding and patching to fix it. Then, it just keeps dying. We took it up on some long 200 mile trips through Mexico for some track events and it would work fine, but when it got back to Mexico City, it would die throughout the week. Now, we could have gotten a lemon of a battery, but this is just his experience. He uses several other things from Stinger in his vehicle and no issues, just this battery.

I know there is also Exide and Odyssey out there.

I bought my cousin with a 95 Golf VR6 the same exact Red Top (34/78) and his car has sat for a few months while it undergoes some aesthetic modifications and it starts like a charm whenever he checks.
