Default Batteries?

What kind of batteries do you guys use?

I was gonna get an Optima Yellow Top, but then I heard about Stinger which is more powerful, fits in the stock battery holder, cranks out more power and it isn't a LOT cheaper, but still like 20 bucks off what the Optima would cost me..

anyone got experience with either battery? if you use a different one, how is it and how much was it?

No fancy battery here. I have a some off brand thing that seems to be the best I've ever had. It has cranked flawlessly in literally weeks of below zero temps. Picked it up a shop called Battery Specialists, 5 year pro-rated guarentee, $60 installed and a perfect replacement fit. I drive by his shop everyday, he's been there for years and came highly recomended by 2 friends. Since it's only 8 months old tough to tell how long it will last, but as i said I drive by his shop every day.

Where do you buy the optima yellow top? Which is better, yellow or red? My car starts fine but the battery is 4 years old and my amps start cutting out when the car is off but the headlights are on. I suspect a low voltage condition so I want to replace the battery before it fails.

I just replaced mine this morning with Duralast Gold. Paid $77 for it out the door with the core exchange. I really wanted to get the Costco Marine battery, but I was afraid it might not fit in my car, and my car couldn't start so i HAD to get a battery instantly.

That doesn't mean they'll replace it will last 84 months or they will replace it free of charge during the 7 years.

If you do a lot of short trips and since you live in Jersey where it's freezing in the winter, a battery will last 3-4 years usually.

I'd figure as much...

I drive a total of 10 miles each day for work, and drive the wifey's car on the weekend, so hope it last bit longer...

I have the Kinetik 1800 battery. It fits perfectly and you can't beat the amperage. If i remember the specs of the Optima, the Kinetik is almost twice the amperage. No problems whatsoever. Plus since it is AGM, I can recharge it at 20 amps instead of trickle.

http://www.kinetikaudio.com/hc1800.asp

FWIW, I have an Xtant 604, 1001, and a batcap. The only time my lights dim are when the stereo is about 75% up while I am at idle.

the larger battery just won't fit unless you relocate it.
