It is the first body dropped lexus I have seen. I know they do trucks like that all the time, but never seen a luxury car done that way...but then again...I dont go to too many car shows.

I thought by bodydrop he just means it's on bags. If he altered the frame somehow, I'd definately stay away. Personaly I wouldn't trust someone else's work anyway, I'd rather pay $25k for a mint 20,000 mile 01 430 from Grandma than that thing that's been through who knows what.

I'm not looking to buy this car. I was just gonna go by and check out the mods and workmanship. Body drop is usually accomplished by removing the sub frame to body spacers/bushings so the whole body sits lower on the sub frames at least on trucks thats usually how its done. But I may be wrong. Thats why I wanted to at least look and see if thats what it is.

I know that when you body drop a truck you cut out the floor of the cab around the frame and then lower the cab over the frame so it looks lower. Very extensive work and alot of shops out there that mess them up doing this. I would stay away from that car in general. I dont understand the need for a body drop when you can accomplish the same look with airbags

[QUOTE=chuckb]interesting. it seems like most Black Cherry GSes are 430s.

i used to think the opposite, everytime i see a BC, (as if there were many to begin with) it's a GS300,
i've only seen 2 other BC GS430. but now i see alot more BC 430s on the forums

I remember reading somewhere that the owner use to "hop" the car with air bags, meaning getting all four wheels off the ground, and managed to crack the engine block doing this. I am sure some people remember reading the article, it had a ton of pics in it.
