Default Would you buy a 99 GS400 with 212k miles?

Simply put, Would you buy a 99 GS400 with 212k miles? I figure current owners would be the ones to ask.

Here's the scenario. I have a client that offered me her 99 GS400 for a really good price (She's getting a new IS). It's mint, and fully serviced, but has 212k miles. I too drive alot of highway miles and I think the car should hold up for some time...but the wife is giving me 'that look'.

Hmmmm....what would you do?

Research a little bit and see if you can find a car that is as good if not better shape with less miles. Also check out KBB.com and see what the car is worth...

For a request of $8500 I would give her $8000 and steal it. I think that is a pretty decent price

Default $8500 is cheap, but........

I think I'd pay a grand or two more for one with half the miles.

agreed. even if you were to get one for $10k with 100k miles - that would be a phenomenal deal.

if all the paperwork is there as far as maintenance is concerned, pay the $8,500 before someone else does.

If I needed a second car, I would be all over that deal (save my current GS for weekends, and use that one for daily driver).

This is what i would do:

1) Call her right now and negotiate the price...tell her you'll take it off her hands right now for $8,000.

2) List it on Auto-Trader the day after for $13,500.

3) Plan what mods you'll be doing with the assumed $4-5K you'll probably make.

Quick Reply: Would you buy a 99 GS400 with 212k miles?
