Default Finally a GS400 owner!!!!

some of you know that i was looking at many gs400's in the pass (actually first posted about it in september or so). Well after much stress, I finally settlled on this car:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=184651

The owner (who was very cool) delivered it to me at my house on saturday 3/04 around 4:30PM. Paid $13,500 for the car. Yes it's high for a car with 125k miles, but I would say the majority of the car car's mileage are done on highways and the drive shows for it! I couldn't find a better deal in southern california, and I really wanted a black GS. I got a black GS, plus more (black interior).

I'm happy to say i'm and owners of one of the finest car every built.

Thanks to e-man who told me to wait out on a car I really want (black) otherwise I will regret it later on. Looks like i wont regret it at all!.

Though after driving it, I must say, it's not really a boring car, but not really fun either. My 1992 acura legend may weigh the same, and is slower, but the car was more fun to drive. The steering feedback and road handling was damn good for a heavy FWD vehicle. Somehow, I dont have that connection with the GS4 that I did with my Legend. If anything, the legend was more of a driver's car than the GS.

And no, I wont mod. Trust me on this one. I had my fair share of modding and have higher priorities now. Maybe I will replace the stock bushing for a daizen polyurethane version, but thats about it as far as mods. Oh yea, my car came with a dirty K&N drop in filter. I bought the kit to clean it and now it starts it better!

Sorry for making the post long, but I have the tendency to ramble on forever...

Welcome to CL..... As far as comparing the Legend to a GS IMO i think there in totally different classes by themselves.. IMO the GS is made for cruising and possibly racing with the right suspension and handling characteristics Sounds like you were patient long enough and got what you want... Are you sure your not going to mod? LOL Congrats...

Hey GSteg. Congrats on the new car. I'm glad my advice helped. You made a great choice.

How about that. Another GS owner with modaphobia. And I thought I was the only one. Maybe we should start up our own sub-forum?

I too came from the Legend - have never regretted it. I haev to completely disagree - I think the GS is in a whole different league when it comes to drivability and fun.

But then again I have never driven a stock GS

One question though. Do you guys feel the road when you brake? During the initial braking, you dont really feel anything (smooth) until you dig down deeper and you can feel the bumps on the road. Is this a characteristic of the GS?
