Yep, that's it. It's right below the tuner dial.

By the way, I had a 93 300zx from 93-99 and it had a Bose system. It stunk. As someone else said, it sounded like it was under water.

its an infinite sign there

like 00 connected and drawn by lots of white lines that are thicker on the bottom

its NOT this logo

ive heard bose from my dad's 05 MB S500, it sounded too high and too rich in treble for me
im not a bassy person but the treble in that car was actually hurting my ears when i was playing some Santana

i agree that they have great marketing but overrated products

It looks like there are a few logos under the tuner dial. Of the three that are under the dial, the ML logo should be the one all the way to the right. Is that the one that you're saying is the infinite sign?

Now I'm thinking more about this. Is it possible that the GS300 was offered with Nav as a stand-alone option? I know that the 430 was not offered this way, but maybe the 300 is different?

the infinite sign is all the way on the left under the tuner dial

then its something like DTS or something (cant remember clearly)

then its Compact Disc logo on the right

under the volume ****, its Lexus Premium Audio System

I also see from your signature that you're from Canada. Is it possible that maybe this is something that was offered exclusively north of the border (that is, our border)? There have been many threads about this and the consensus is:

(1) 98-00, you could get the standard Pioneer system, Nakamichi or navigation. If you got Nak, you couldn't get nav and vice versa. If you got nav, the stereo was the standard Pioneer.

(2) 01+, ML replaced Nakamichi as the upgraded sound system. The stock base system was still the Pioneer (or Lexus Premium system -- which I noticed is printed on the left side of your stereo). In 01 and 02, you could special order ML without navigation, but not the other way around. For the most part, though, both options came as a bundled package (there are very few ML without nav cars out there). From 03+, you either got both ML and nav or neither. To my knowledge, there was no difference between the 300 and 430 with respect to these options.

Do you have a speaker mounted flush in the top center portion of your dash?

They must have been, at least with respect to the GS300. I have never seen a GS430 with nav without ML.

Most audiophioles will agree that Bose is mostly a marketing machine; the sound quality of their products really isn't the best.

Obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I have a critcal ear (I also install high-end home audio & home theater systems) and I have heard nearly all of the Bose products. They haven't made a decent home speaker in a decade, and their "home theater in a box" systems are lousy at best.

Fortunately, Lexus had enough sense not to partner with Bose!
You're right. Personal opinions vary. That's why they're opinions. My sister's old 89 Accord had a nice sounding Bose system. The last generation RX7 used Bose wave design to help boost bass responce in the small trunk space available. Just curious, but did you compare the Bose stereos in these cars to the other stereo options in the same cars? Are they the best? No. But they're better than what normally would come in the cars. Which is just enough for most people.

Personally, I buy a car based on it's intended use (hauling me around), not because of the stereo that comes with it. I can (and have) put my own stereo system in to fit my tastes.

That is an interesting link. Lots of opinions again. And it contradicts itself a couple times (read carefully about the sub module). And they're wrong about the 901s (I have a pair). The 901 design is almost 50 years old now. Only thing that's changed over the last half decade is the speakers used themselves.

Bose home theater has always been about size and packaging and getting a lot of sound from a small package. But enough about their home stuff. This is a car forum.

Back on subject:

Bottom left says RDS and the logo (not sure where you guys are getting the Infinity logo) and the Compact Disc logo. RDS is Radio Data System. It gets information from the same signal the radio station is broadcasting to display on the stereo. It can be anything the radio station chooses to send. Either station information, song information, etc. It's very much like what Satalite radio broadcasts, but not widely used in the US.

Cars equipped with Bose have the "Bose" name stamped on the speaker grills.

just a little commend on bose. i think it depends on how much money spent. the new RL isn't too bad, pretty decent i should say. nothing like the ml system on lexus of course, but compared to the stupid system on my old acura tl-s, it's much better already
