2003 GS300:p0057
p0057
Took it to someone and got it cleared, but it came back. The dealer(good friend of a family member) where I bought it is going to change the 02 sensor. It was already kind of late and I had to pick up my wife so I couldn't do it right there on the spot. I first test drove the car with very little gas and the engine light was not on. After we put 89 octane in it and driving a couple of miles the engine light came on and the TSC light came on. So we took it to a shop plugged it up and p0057 Oxygen sensor hearter control low:bank 2 sensor 2 and then on the same ticket that printed up it listed the exact item again with "history" to the right. I'm not too worried about the engine light b/c either the sensor will be replaced or the code will leave once I put 93 octane. This happened to me in my z28 when I put 93 octane but from Citgo. Soon as I refilled with 93 from Chevron after less than a mile the code was gone.
What I am worried about is the TSC light saying that its off when this engine light comes on. I couldn't turn it back on after that. Is that something I need to worry about or is that normal when the engine light comes on?
is there and ODB for consumers to purchase for Lexus cars? Is there one for the GS300?(2003)

A mechanic replaced the 02 sensor, but the engine light came back on after we reset the code by removing the negative cable from the battery for a little bit. After driving about 3 miles the code came back on. Is there a diagram I can see to make a reference and make sure he replaced the right 02 sensor. The part was ordered from a lexus dealer.

The code is usually just the start of a diagnostic tree. There could be other factors related to the emmisions system that could throw that code. I don't have a code manual on me, but thats typical for all cars. Maybe someone can provide the tree for you. That way you can look at the rest of it and determine what else may need to be replaced.

well another forum said it is located under the passenger floor behind the cat and the mechanic replaced the one between the engine and the firewall.
