I had the same issue with the lights a few months ago. Suprisingly the problem went away after about two weeks. I am actually bringing my gs to the dealer on wednesday to check a few things but I will also bring up the issue with the lights and let you know the cause.

Johnny not you!!! You know everything about the GS Good Luck Sounds strange to me, you never had this problem before could it be from the car sitting so long something is acting up?? Thought's

No check engine lights on ..but the headlights dont shut off
The headlights are the problem ...need to check with a new relay ...

Johnny, I actually had a similar electrical "gremlin" a couple months back where instead of turning off automatically, my headlights started BLINKING! I disconnected the battery and began shutting them off manually after driving and it eventually went away. Not saying that disconnecting the battery is going to help you, but it sometimes seems like this type of thing often goes away on it's own? Good luck.

Not the gas CAP, but the gas DOOR. Not sure if the GS has a sensor for the door... but I also didnt know it had one for the trunk until I found out like you did!

It was the light control switch
basically took the steering wheel off to get to it ....took it apart, played with it and BAMMMMM
it works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
off to go put it all back together
