Hey all,

Has anyone had a problem with a wet driverside floor? It gets pretty wet. I tried looking around but I can't find a leak anywhere. Any clues where to looks? Sunroof drain block? door drain blocked? Any help will be great!

have a friend hose down your car while you're inside, then see if you can locate the leak.

check your firewall gromet from under the hood and at driverside footwell.
Cehck the door weatherstrips. Water usually comes though where your door speaker is. You see any water marks on the door speaker grill?

The rubber plugs under the car may of popped off. If thats the case, you have a 2" hole letting dirt and water in. Check under your car to make sure all the plugs are in there.

Don't really know where the heater core is located but I had an Audi that had a similar problem that turned out to be a ruptured heater core.

Is the 'wetness' water or anti freeze? You can easily tell by rubbing it between your fingers. Anti freeze is slippery.

i had the same problem, u may want to check the drains in your sunroof if they are clogged with trash it will so the same thing. I had mine cleaned at the dealership free of charge, so thats one start, another would be as someone sd previously , chech your drain plugs as well...

Where are the sunroof drains? I looked under the car and it looks like all the plugs are there.

I also took the carpet off and it was really wet underneath. I found a plug under the carpet and it also seems to be in place.

I'm pretty sure it water and not antifreeze.

Any other clues?

Most likely a cracked heater core. I had the same problem. Lexus took the whole front dash out and replaced the core..... no more wet carpet. It's a long and expensive job, but that fixed it....

Hey Ishinc,

I mentioned the heater core as well a few days ago. The simple test is to 'feel' the moisture in the driver's well area. If it's slippery it's most likely antifreeze; therefore a heater core problem.

When you ask for help on any forum it's appropriate to provide feedback to the responders who give you meaninful information.

I hope its not the heater core. Sounds expensive.

In my last post I wrote that it is most likely water and not antifreeze. Maybe I wasn't too clear with my response! Its all good.

I'll check under the carpet again tonight to see if it only happens when it rains......

any other ideas?

99% sure its your moonroof drains. I had the same proble on a LX400. There are two drains on the front of the roof and two on back. I made a homade rig with a peice of 1/4or 1/8 inch copper pipe and I hook it to my air compressor and blow them out. They should drian out by your wheel well.

I had wet carpet on the passenger side.

I had exactly the same problem. There is a plastic box under the dash around the steering column area. Cannot remember the function but it has a longitudinal seam, strangely, and that is the source of the leak. About $1,000 in labor to have it replaced. The repair involves a big dash removeal (I was told).

I'm going to try to blow out the sunroof drains tomorrow and see what happens.

I have a similar problem with my SC but with the rear passenger side carpet though. Well if its coolant, im sure u can freakin smell it

This is just a thought, Try using a wet vac on both of your drain hoses to unclog them. I've had to do this many times with my home A/C drainage hose..
