Well, 160/161 is the same car. In Japan there is a twin turbo GS rather than the V8 GS400/430 found here. Either way getting 160/161 body parts do not matter, but to be on the safe side...the GS300 is a JZS160. Toyota Aristo V300 TT (Aristo= GS in Japan) = JZS161

I think all parts are interchangable besides the LED mirrors. This is due to the Japanese cars being right hand drive.

Thank you for the prompt response Jeff. That explains everything I thought JZS160 was refering to the 1st Gen GS300.

I needed to confirm the info to purchase a TTE Front Lip. Thanks again

You should be able to locate your chassis code on the manufacturer's label located either on the driver's side door jamb or on the driver door itself. It should be located next to your paint code and below the large barcode with the vin right below it.

It should read JZS160L-BEAQFA. JZS= Chassis Code (usually coded w/engine block series i.e 2JZ) 160 = Generation designation. The L designates = Left Hand Drive. For the RHD, there is nothing listed after the chassis code.

Here is what it looks like for any Lexus before 2004:

Here is what the label looks like 2004 and after:

JZ160 = 1998 to 2000 GS 300
JZ161 = 2001 to 2005 GS 300

as far as ordering kit for your car.. It shouldnt matter because the only difference is the tail lights and e shift. Body,Chassis,Suspension components are the same.

Hope it helps

Actually thats not quite correct.
JZS160=ALL 2nd gen 98-05 Lexus GS300 and Toyota Aristo S300
JZS161=ALL 2nd gen 98-05 Toyota Aristo V300 TT (This is the only car with the JZS161 designation)

UZS160=98-00 GS400
UZS161=01-05 GS430

Body parts will be identical for all 4 types listed. Basically the same car, just different engine.
