What I'm concerned about is the life or tolerances of the LED, and what kind of warranty I'm gona get for a set of $600 taillights. I know these are probably high quality units, not like the APC ones that burn out in a month. Still, in every car there are voltage spikes and thats something LED's don't like.

Please do some reading homework.

OK CL members, we have also received the Quest LED tail lights.
All the ones advertised on the Japan sites are from the same source, we ordered from (2) different companies and both turned out the same product, so we know there only coming from one manufacturer.
We're going to test for leaks or condensation on them, just to see how good of a seal they have

Steve try a power wash gun at the local DIY car wash.
For a super test switch to hot water and see if any condensation builds up inside.

There are a lot of things you can do to your car with 6 benji's - including bodykits, I.C.E., and performance parts - I'd like to see the results of the first "line" and hear the reviews, before I purchased them myself.
I know it's been a lot of reading on this thread, but there have been discussions and answers to your comments.
Simple answer, wait 6 months to a year before buying and see what the fallout from the early adopters is.
For me, I know where to get quality LED bulbs if needed and the wholesale cost is a lot less than you think. Do you know what type of margin Pep Boys has on LED accessories?
I am more concerned if they designed the tails to make the LEDs easily replaceable.
Steve or Neo, please verify this if you can. This will do a lot to minimize peoples concerns over cheap LEDs.

We'll have to see how this is in person.
