Default Install DIY w/ TTE lip and Roof Spoiler?

i want to order these and has anyone intalled the TTE Lip and L-sportline Roof Spoiler? It seems like it can't be that hard especially using the 3M tape..

Also what kind of solvent should i use to prep the surface of the paint so the 3M tape will stick good?

Roof spoiler should be easy. TTE lip might be a bit trickier. Search for TTE install or something there was a member that did a nice write up and took lots of pics of the process.

Here is the link to the TTE front lip install I did. I used the glue supplied with the lip. I am not sure you want to use the double stick tape on the lip. Some others may have but I wanted to make sure it stuck.

there are couple screws you need to do too... if you have them painted, you might as well ask the body shop to do it...
I did my JP spoiler and it is a paint in the @^%$^.....

believe me, DO NOT try to use the 3M tape for the TTE lip. My old body guy tried it and it stayed on for about 3 hours. The adhesive that comes with the lip is strong and works perfect. I also used those little blue and yellow colored squeeze-grip vices from Home Depot to hold the lip on overnight.

I used the polyurethane glue from lowe's. It works great, the only thing is make sure u get off all the glue, cause it turns yellow when cured. I stayed with the car for about 3hrs after i did cause if oozes as it cures. I used 4 scissor jacks to keep in place. Mine came out perfect.

Tony

I installed my own TTE front lip also and I must say PATIENCE is key...Especially with the glue since it can be extremely messy, so just take your time and it would be best to get another person to help you once you get ready to mount the lip on the body with the glue....Its good to get it on and positioned right the first time so you don't get the DAMN glue all over the place like I did ...It ended up coming out fine but at one point I wanted to say F&*%$ this..

I used the glue that came with the lip...It seems to be holding up just fine....Oh yeah...after installing the lip with the glue provided, I ran a thin bead of clear water resistant sealant around the top of the lip to ensure that no water or moisture gets in at all...Good Luck!!
