DaveGS4 knows - he's got this setup
I think it sounds great; may be a little to loud for some GS owners - he could better describe it than me
Dave? 'splain it....

Richie,
I can't seem to get the link to open up to listen to what's on the MPG file...
I'm not bothered by the sound (and like it), but there is a distinct sucking-of-air sound even at light throttle from the intake. Draws attention from pedestrians, sounds a bit like you've got a big snake under the hood and you're making him angry with the accelerator. Evil hiss goes great with the Borlas.
Having said that, if you want to maintain more of a luxury car feel, it's probably a bit too loud. I typically don't ferry clients around in my GS.
I've been thinking about enhancing the heatshield that goes around my intake (related link < here >. ), which should have the effect of significantly quieting the sound, but keeping the benefits of the intake.
Some of those with SC's have built some pretty nice boxes for their intakes, and the guy that did it may be interested in doing one for a GS if we have enough interest. Here's a link to what it looks like on the SC < link >.
Somebody had some videos hosted a while back with their GS with the same intake / exhaust combo that had a good demo of the sound... Seems like they were on Woody's site, I'll poke around.

OK, found what I think were the vids (they were by Mariusz) on the old ezboard site but they aren't active/hosted anymore (warning, this site is very SLOW with lots of ads.

I don't have a full blown digital camcorder or I'd make you one, may try it with my little Sony DSC-P1 that gets sound and 15 sec video clips, but don't think you'll get good fidelity.

Dave, I found the vids on www.suprastore.com, I think.
The vid showed a black GS400 with borla's and a SRT open air filter.
From what I saw in the vid, the intake is loud but it sounds good.
